David Anthony reflects on balance. Here’s what he had to say:
“When we talk about toughness, the true meaning isn’t risk or hardiness or whatever you want to call it, it’s about diversity and investing time in what you are doing, investing time in managing what matters.
For me, work is one part of what’s important, my family and my health are other parts important to me. I need to ensure I am investing time in each of these on a regular basis so I have the toughness/resilience to deal with or manage those things that are unexpectedly thrown across any area.
Balance has been upset for everyone this year, and it’s exacerbated by this notion we don’t know when it’s going to end. However, we need to balance the load and invest in a number of areas so as to balance perspective. I’m still engaging with my family, still making my work life boundaries, still looking at ways to keep myself physically active etc. then those decisions out of my control will have less of an impact than if I’m just sitting on my hands waiting to hear that decision before I make a change.”
